Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Presto, a macOS application developed by Mihir Karandikar ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using Presto, you agree to these terms. You must be at least 13 years old to use Presto.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive license to use Presto on one Mac at a time for your personal or professional work. If you move to a new Mac, you may transfer your license to that Mac. You may not transfer your license to another person, or share, sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute your license key or the app.

Purchases and refunds

Presto is a one-time purchase. There are no recurring fees or subscriptions. Purchases, taxes, payment processing, license delivery, and refunds are handled through Lemon Squeezy. We do not store your full card number or payment credentials.

Prices may change at any time, but price changes do not affect licenses you already purchased. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

Privacy

Presto processes audio and transcripts locally on your Mac. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to your dictated content. The app may store transcript history and usage data locally on your Mac, and may connect to the internet for model downloads, update checks, license validation, and Crashlytics crash reporting. The app does not emit analytics events. If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to send. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Updates and availability

We may release bug fixes and updates at our discretion. Bug-fix updates may be included at no additional cost, but major version upgrades may be sold separately. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every future macOS release, or support for any specific version indefinitely.

Transcription accuracy

Presto uses speech recognition models and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected output. You are responsible for reviewing and editing transcripts before relying on them, especially for legal, medical, financial, professional, or other sensitive uses.

License ending or deactivation

Your license may end or be deactivated if your purchase is refunded, reversed, charged back, found to be fraudulent, or if you breach these terms. When your license ends, you must stop using Presto.

Intellectual property

Presto, including its design, code, name, and branding, is owned by Mihir Karandikar or our licensors. Third-party components, including Whisper speech recognition models, remain subject to their own licenses. These terms do not give you ownership of Presto or our intellectual property.

Disclaimer of warranties

Presto is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Presto will be error-free, uninterrupted, perfectly accurate, or suitable for your specific needs.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or other losses arising from your use of Presto. Our total liability for any claim related to Presto is limited to the amount you paid for your license.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute related to these terms or Presto is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Pune, Maharashtra, India, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Presto after changes means you accept the updated terms.
