Presto is built around one rule: your voice stays on your Mac. This policy explains what the app sends, what stays local, and what we keep to run purchases, licensing, support, updates, crash reporting, and the marketing website.

Marketing website analytics

The Presto marketing website may use analytics to understand traffic, conversion, funnels, and how visitors use the site. Depending on the analytics provider and settings we use, website analytics may use cookies, local storage, pixels, or similar technologies, and may include page views, referrers, campaign parameters, browser and device information, approximate location from IP address, and interactions with website pages.

Website analytics are separate from the app. They do not include your app audio, transcripts, dictated text, license key, local app history, or local app usage counts.

Your audio and transcripts

Presto processes speech locally on your Mac using on-device speech recognition models. We do not collect, transmit, log on our servers, or have access to your audio, transcripts, dictated text, or the content you create with the app.

Local app data

Presto may store data locally on your Mac so the app can work and show your history. This can include transcript history, dictated text, delivery details such as the target app, app settings, local usage counts such as words and sessions, downloaded models, update state, and license state.

This local app data is not collected by us. You can clear transcript history in the app where that feature is available. If you send logs, screenshots, or a support bundle to support, we receive whatever you choose to send.

When the app connects to the internet

Presto is designed to work offline after setup, but the app may connect to the internet for:

Crash reports

We use Firebase Crashlytics to find and fix crashes. Crash reporting is enabled by default. Crashlytics is the only diagnostic data the app emits to us. We use it only for crash diagnostics, not product analytics or advertising. Crash reports may include technical diagnostics such as stack traces, app state at the time of a crash, app version, device model, macOS version, and installation identifiers used to group crashes.

We do not attach your audio, transcripts, dictated text, or free-form user identifiers to crash reports. We do not use Mixpanel, Firebase Analytics, PostHog, Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, or advertising trackers in the app.

Purchases and licenses

Purchases are processed through Lemon Squeezy. We may receive and store the information needed to fulfill your order, validate your license, process refunds, and provide support, such as your email address, Lemon Squeezy order details, license key, license status, and purchase/refund history. We do not store your full card number or payment credentials.

Support

If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, screenshots, logs, or other details needed to help with your request. Please do not send audio, transcripts, or other sensitive content unless you want us to review it for support.

Presto is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top and post the revised version here. If we ever change the core promise that audio and transcripts stay on your Mac, we will make that clear before the change applies.
